(Located in the Retail Park) Founded in 1973, Argos is a unique catalogue retailer recognised for choice, value and convenience. It sells general merchandise and products for the home from over 35 stores in the Republic of Ireland and over 690 stores in the UK with total sales of over £3.8 billion in the last financial year. Argos opened its first stores in the Republic in January 1996 in Limerick, Nutgrove and Dublin and now there is an Argos catalogue in approximately two-thirds of all Irish homes. Argos plans to continue to expand within the Republic of Ireland over the next three years bringing its store total to around 40 and adding around 250 new jobs to the country. Argos is already one of the largest retail employers in the country with around 1,100 employees.
